Breaking news!
On the 90th anniversary of Bnei Akiva
Bnei Akiva Israel and World Bnei Akiva decided to join forces and act for diaspora Jewry & Olim out of the belief that we must connect every Jew – whether in Israel or abroad.
We will do everything in our power to continue and connect Jews to Torah, Avodah and Eretz Israel.
We will continue to advocate for Aliyah, and to be there for those who took the leap of faith, and help them acclimate into Israeli society.
There are still thousands we have yet to reach.
Thousands we have yet to connect.
Our goal is 1,500,000 NIS.
Each contribution is multiplied by three:
100 NIS equals 300 NIS, 1000 NIS equals 3000 NIS
Bnei Akiva's mission is primarily with the future generation. That mission cannot be fulfilled without your help, the present generation.
We believe that what Bnei Akiva gave to all of us should be given to every Jew in the world!
Great work is ahead of us – Alo Na'ale!
We dream and together we can realize!

In those moments we’re
feeling the sharp transition from Yom Ha’Zikaron to Yom Ha’Atzmaut. This is the Israeli reality, sad and mourning together with happiness and gratitude. Thank you Gila for choosing such a meaningful song for this special moments.
but you will never be able to come back
And how it’s happened and how it’s still happening that the wheat still grows”

Gila:”The Wheat Still Grows Again" is one of Israel's most classic songs on Yom Hazikaron's playlist. It was written after 11 young soldiers from Beit Hashita kibbutz were all killed during the Yom Kippur war, in 1973. The song describes the beautiful views of the Gilboa and the valley below, and how they change after losing some of the dearest young people who were part of it. Personally, I feel this feeling is a common one that we share, as growing up and living in Israel. The people in Israel are a major part in what makes Israel so beautiful.

This evening, we bow our heads in memory of fallen IDF soldiers and those who killed in terror attacks. It is hard not to be in Israel on this day and one of the things that keeps us connected is the special songs and music of this day.
Thank you Michal Oholy for choosing the daily song.

Michal:" This song was written by Natan Yonatan, a famous Israeli poet who lost his son Lior during the Yom Kippur War. The song describes the fallen as anonymous people with foreign faces, we know what happened because of them, the achievements in wars, but do not know anything about them as individuals. Those who remember only these family and friends, while others return to the depths of oblivion. Everything returns to the depths, each one returning to its place, but the foam, a symbol of the fallen, will never return. Their life ended like the faded night candles. Friendship, love
The youth who suddenly came to an end.
Let us not forget them, as individuals, as each and every one of them was an entire world that we don't know and unfortunately we will never get to know."

Thank you Gilad Lavi for choosing the daily song that reminds us that despite everything, missiles and alarms, we have no other place.

Gilad:"The song is part of the roots of Israeli existence and tries to answer the strange question of why to live in this place?
In the end there is really no other country and despite the danger and the difficulties it is our home".

I have no other country
Even if my land is burning
Only a word of Hebrew penetrates my veins, my soul
In a painful body, in the heart of hunger
Here is my home
I will not shut up, because my country has changed her face
I will not give her up,
Remind her,
And sing here to her
Until she opened her eyes
I have no other country
Even if my land is burning
Only a word of Hebrew penetrates my veins, my soul
In a painful body, in the heart of hunger
Here is my home
I will not shut up, because my country
She changed her face
I will not give her up,
Remind her,
And sing here to her
Until she opened her eyes
I have no other country
Until she renews her days
Until she opened her eyes

Shavua tov! After frightening shabbas in Israel with over 200 rockets from gaza, we continue with our song of the day that Rotem, our SCZ shlicha, chose. Our thoughts and hearts with Israel and we’re praying for a quiet and a peaceful week and Chodesh tov 🙏🏻

Rotem:” this song symbolise for me Yom Ha’Zicaron, Yom Ha’Shoah And Yom Ha’Atzmaut.
A song that tells the story of so many children and people who lost a father, or a friend or a sibling in various wars ..
We, as Jews, have always been and still have to survive. Our continuity is not simple and we have to fight for it and also lose parts of our relatives.

This performance is very touching for me because Shlomi Shabat sang it with the orphans of the IDF who lost their fathers in
the wars of Israel.”

Thanks to Benny for this song ! Shabbat shalom

This song doesn't usually make it into the Memorial Day playlists, as most people don't know about its background. Avshi Chanoch, the navy commando soldier about whom the song has been written, is barely present here - only as an address for the sent letter that won't be read and as an audience for the singing that the wind takes away. There is a message that Shalom Chanoch sends to his cousin whom he misses, which maybe later on seems as a detached leaf drifting away, insignificant, but still holds as the soft light in the darkness of the writer’s nights. This song is the "laughter and tears" of Yom Ha'atzmaut and Memorial Day.

Song Without a Name / Shalom H’anoch / translation Orit Perlman

For my song is a bat- kol (a spirit voice) in the wind
My sent letter, My life’s path, my longings, the echo of my prayers
For my song is a leaf in the wind, Fallen and forgotten,
it is the soft light opening, in my nights
It (the leaf) is you who are coming to me
In my wanderings pass upon me
images and souls, and names, names
You are coming and walking to me

Ay, the darkness surrounds / If only you are listening
Maybe, may, maybe / You are coming and walking to me
On my path landscapes and melodies walk with me
And faces, faces / You are coming and walking to me
Ya, Silence surrounds / And if you were listening
Maybe, may, maybe / You are coming and walking to me
For my song is a breath of wind / My open window

My spring-source of strength, Laughter and tears
End of my suffering

You are coming and walking to me

Today we remembered the 6 million Jews who were exterminated in the Holocaust. It is hard to think that each and every one of them was a whole world.

One of those worlds was Rabbi Azriel David Fastag, will his memory be blessed, who was murdered in Treblinka and and who composed the daily song that Noah chose.

Noah: "On the train to Treblinka, sat the Baal Menagen, the musician, of the Rebbi of Modzitz with a crowd of petrified Jews who could all sense the end. As they sat, the Baal Menagen composed this niggun against all odds, and after the whole transport had lifted voices in song, said, with no hope left, If someone could bring this to the Rebbi, I would give them half my share in the World to Come. Two Jews lept from the transit with the Niggun in their hearts. One was shot as he hit the ground. The other, injured, joined a band of forest warriors, and survived the war to meet the Rebbi in America after. He brought the Rebbi this Niggun, written in the grave of European Jewry. Shaken to his core, the Rebbi said, “if Jews sang this Niggun as they were taken to be slaughtered for God’s Name, then it is this Niggun with which we will welcome Mashiach”.
