INTRODUCTION

The school age learning programme is designed to supplement Jewish education for children of the Perth Jewish community to provide them with a more “Yeshiva” type curriculum.  Our objective is that students should leave high school with the same facility in learning as students from Yeshiva high schools in other major Jewish communities. 

The programme is divided into three broad groups.  The first is a pre-school programme known as “Gan Torah”.  The second is the programme for primary school children known as “Cheder”.  The focus at this level is on Chumash and Rashi, Mishna and Halacha.  The senior classes are for high school students and are known as “Yeshiva Ketana”.  At this senior level students develop a facility in Gemora, Mishna B’rura and related texts.  All staff at the Cheder and Yeshiva Ketana levels have Yeshiva training.
